I bet we’ll never get our own Hallmark card either. So sad.

Have a good secular New Year of peace and love, and Happy Circumcision. I for one am glad that Hallmark doesn’t have a card, can’t you just imagine what it would look like?

I work in a Baptist bookstore. The assistant manager has taken to asking me out of the blue “What are you celebrating today?” (this after coming in late one day every week in November after attending various 7 AM Divine Liturgies). On Monday at our morning devotional time, she caught me by surprise and I said, “Uh, I don’t know - but tomorrow is Circumcision!”
You could have heard a pin drop.

Grace, I’ll talk to some creative folks here at Hallmark to see if we can get this card. It will be a difficult one to categorize. “Let’s see, do we put that under ‘Jewish’ or ‘Christian’? Hmm, maybe under ‘New Baby’ - maybe we need to change that to just ‘Baby’ since all of them are new…” I can hear the conundrums now as they wrestle with this one in the editorial department.

Well, anything worth doing is worth doing well.
I would kind of advise them to stay away from the humorous ones, especially the curmudgeon lady. But I don’t want to tell anybody their business.
