One of our friends responded to the slideshow by asking why there weren’t any pictures of me. Well,… oops. I forgot. There are pictures of me, of course, but none that quite make the cut, in my humble estimation. Like a lot of people, I don’t care for pictures with me in them. They’re annoying, because I’m really trying to nurture a belief that I look wonderful, which is hard to do when photographs would have me know that I usually just look weird or goofy. (I think it’s the lens.)

But at any rate, I can live with this one. We took a taxi back from Edinburgh to the dock, and the taxi driver really started ripping along those narrow little streets. So I just held onto the strap with both hands and enjoyed the view (and when I say “enjoyed the view,” of course I mean “tried not to think about it”). But Greg had the camera (what was I thinking?) and had to capture the moment for posterity.
