One last Christmas prayer

December 24th, 2007 ~ Orthodox perspective

I had a need to go through a folder of occasional prayers that I keep on the computer, and I saw one called “Advent.” I really don’t know where it came from, but it seemed a very good thought for us all on Christmas Eve:

Let not our souls be busy inns that have no room for Thee and Thine,

but quiet homes of prayer and praise,

where Thou mayest find fit company,

where the needful cares of life are wisely ordered and put away,

and wide, sweet spaces kept for Thee,

where holy thoughts pass up and down,

and fervent longings watch and wait Thy coming.

.
Amen. Blessed Nativity, everyone!
