May 20th, 2010 ~ Just a slice of heaven, Orthodox perspective
“It was 20 years ago today, Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play …”
Or something like that.

This is what it’s all for, what it’s all about. And no, I don’t mean the teapot that eagle-eyed individuals will detect on top of the fax machine (although it was a fine assam blend with just the right amount of milk in it).
On May 20, 1990, I married Greg, and since then, he has been the MOST suprising, enchanting, exasperating, hilarious person ever. No one touches my heart more. No one can take my peace away faster and then return it with interest. No one indulges my foolish fancies more or rewards me nearly as much for being a grown-up.
So that’s the way it is. Twenty years that seem much shorter and much longer all at the same time.
Lord, have mercy on old married people.

I love you. I love the sentiment.
But, God as my witness, I *do* dislike that photo.

Oh, that reminds me of one other thing … no one else is more likely to try and edit this blog, even though he should know better. ;-)

I love the photo. The man is in his element with all those cables and wires surrounding you. It looks just like my house.
Congratulations and many years to you both!

I love it all. My wife would take the same photo of me, except I’d be wearing my yellow happy face pajama pants. We celebrated 17 a few days ago and she said, “you still make me laugh”. There’s a lot to be said for that. Congrats and many more.

20? 17? I’m reading blogs written by babies!! We’re rapidly approaching 39.
Grace, what you said was beautiful! (And for Greg, I love the photo.)
God grant you many more years!

Well, whether we’re babies or adults in Married Years, we’re just trying to get that balance right between old-and-wise and young at heart.

God Grant you many (more) years! Doug and I have been married 12 years today, although we have known each other for 25+ years.
