Empty nesters
May 17th, 2006 ~ Just a slice of heaven
Shows what I know. When I wrote the last entry, I called upon all my vast experience as a longtime viewer of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom to say that the cardinals who were fussing at me would’ve built their nest up in a tree. But when I plunged into the backyard jungle again today to prune the shrubs some more, I came across the nest. Thank goodness, it was empty. And there were no cardinals to be seen anywhere. I didn’t see the fledging, so he’s off somewhere getting a student loan. I didn’t see the parents, so they probably took the RV and went to Branson like all the other empty nesters.
