Lord have Mercy - what a horrible thing to have happen on a cruise.

Yes, it was the first thing like that I’d ever heard of. But it seemed like it could’ve been much worse. The one person who died apparently had a heart attack, and there was some conjecture that that person was the smoker whose smoldering cigarette started the fire. (BTW, I don’t think you’re supposed to smoke in any of the rooms.) Some people hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and of course a lot of damage to the cabins and — I assume — the things that people were keeping in them. But still, as these things go, it could’ve been much worse.
