A very good YouTube intro to Orthodoxy
September 7th, 2008 ~ Orthodox perspectiveTrying to catch up on the Ortho-blogosphere, I followed one blogger’s comments (can’t remember which one now — sorry) to this short introduction to Orthodoxy given by Fr. Basil Calderone of St. John the Baptist Antiochian Orthodox Church in Post Falls, Idaho. I thought he did an excellent job of quickly going over the missing history, and link it here just to keep it handy (for myself or others). Comments were disabled on the video, but if anyone is near enough to give them a shout, send them a few kudos from me (for whatever that’s worth) for doing it so well.

Wow - great and concise little church history thing there. I think I’ll hand on to the link, too - never know when it will come in handy …
(Would have been nice if they’d had something a little more traditional musically at the introduction, instead of something that sounds like it came off pop Christian radio).

LOL. Oh, the myriad times I’ve looked at a comment and uttered a mild oath at my haste and lack of fine motor skills.
I agree about the music at the beginning. I heard an Orthodox CD recently by a “group” I’ve liked in the past, and they had gone big-time into the Christian pop thing — instrumentation and Western stylings and all. I was pretty turned off.
