Shameful

April 15th, 2005 ~ Orthodox perspective

This non-Catholic sold on ebay the eucharist he obtained by getting in line twice a a papal mass in 1998.
Isn’t this all you need to know about why it is that the Orthodox are so exclusive regarding the eucharist? This is disgraceful.

Someone has to go see this movie

April 13th, 2005 ~ Potpourri for 100, Alex

I got all excited about the movie “Millions” based on this review by Frederica and this trailer, only to find out that it isn’t playing anywhere near me. Drat! Someone has to go see this. In fact, a lot of Christians have to go see it, because it sounds like the kind of movie that […]

Weird science

April 12th, 2005 ~ Potpourri for 100, Alex

The mojo of Moho.
Scientists are drilling a hole to the center of the earth. Doesn’t this sound like one of the first chapters of a Stephen King book? Or one of the last chapters of Revelation?

Conventional wisdom about upcoming events in the Catholic Church say that there’s a bad moon on the rise.

The MSM tribute to Pope John Paul II has been a grudging “many people thought he was a good guy” sort of thing. I’d expect them to do due diligence to the pope — whose appeal I think […]

Comments to feed the dog

April 2nd, 2005 ~ Potpourri for 100, Alex

I’m going to risk looking pathetic and ask people to comment to this post. This isn’t to feed my ego (which actually prefers Malt-o-meal), but to just make sure that all’s well with the newly-tweaked comment functions.
If it’s the first time you’re commenting, you won’t see your comment immediately, but don’t panic. That’s not a […]

Pope John Paul II

April 1st, 2005 ~ La Vida Iglesia

Though the Vatican has denied reports that the Pope has died, it seems that his death is imminent at this point.
So first, condolences and best wishes to any Catholics that may be reading this. I’ve heard several people who know better than I say that it’s very unlikely that we will see another pope so […]
