Stuff About Me

Name: Grace. It was my grandmother’s name, and, until a few years ago, my much-disliked middle name. But times have changed, and I switched to it because the world seems to need as much grace as it can get. Other people seem to agree, because I’ve heard a few times now that “Grace” has become a trendy thing to name your daughter. O, my prophetic soul (and grandma).

Spouse: Greg, the Husband (to use his Viking name).

Where I’m found most of the time: A restored Victorian house in a little farm town about an hour away from Kansas City, MO.

Where I’m found the rest of the time: At Starbucks. Preferably the ones inside the Barnes & Noble stores, so I can take all the blow-in cards out of the magazines and spill coffee on books I’m not going to buy. (They hate me at Barnes & Noble headquarters.)

Gainful employment: Greg and I run our own marketing and public relations firm. I’m a graphic artist by trade, but I’m trying to spin up on running a home office, managing the books and generally keeping all the ducks in a row.

Church: I’ve been in the Orthodox Church since I was chrismated in with so many others of the EOC movement in 1986 (I think. Why is it I’m never sure of the really important dates in my life, but I can remember exactly when I read my first “Black Stallion” book. Sheesh!)

Other things worth mentioning: … Conservative — really conservative … dog-owner … Army brat … So. Cal expatriate … had a comic strip for a year … sang in a women’s barbershop chorus …love bubble-gum music (we’re talking the real thing. We’re talking Abba and Ace of Base. I have no shame.)
